my life and travels

southeast asia

We came to Southeast Asia with no clear purpose, and after randomly traveling around for a month or so, we found ourselves on a secluded beach in Thailand doing absolutely nothing.

Kit and I were used to the ‘two week adventure’. A trip that we planned and executed with Soviet-like precision. Not boring affairs where every minute of the day was written out on a spreadsheet, but definitely knowing our itinerary and where we’d be and what we’d be doing each day.

This was not a two week adventure.

But during this time, we eventually developed a newfound appreciation of home, our friends, our family and ourselves.

Not to mention the worst craving for Five Guys that any human has ever experienced in their life. Seriously, you can only have so much rice.

Aimless Wanderings

A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.
